I think a simpler explanation for all of these is confirmation bias. If you work enough days in a restaurant, and people pick their drinks at random, there have to be some days where everyone orders a margarita; it’ll happen eventually. Not only that, but people could have all ordered any drink, and you would have found that notable. If you flip a coin a thousand times, it’s likely that you’ll find streaks of ten heads or ten tails in a row.

I didn’t have any family words for body parts or functions, I mean it is what it is.

Buuut, when I was growing up, i thought I was really special because I thought I had two middle names. I seriously had a strong belief that my name was “Alex Zander James Bahus.” I would brag to the kids at school and make fun of them because they only had one middle name. I think my parents felt sorry for me so they just encouraged me to think that way. Then one day I got my report card that said “Alexander James Bahus” on it, and I was like, “what the hell?!? That’s not my name!”

Then my parents had to break the bad news and crush my world. From that day forth I only had one middle name just like everyone else in school. Though I think I’m going to give my (eventual) kid two middle names, just because!

I’m glad your life has come to this point. I remember when I first saw you after you were laid off. You were a wreck and very scared about the future. It’s fascinating what can happen with God’s grace and good friends and family. Since you got your new jobs, I have yet to hear you complain about how much your work sucks. That is a complete flip on your work life from before. It’s great.

I think it probably just means “Yes, Hispanics are capable of being placed in positions of national level authority and honor.” and that is probably a pretty big deal for them, proving that they’re capable.
